39 Assemblymen receives Motorbikes


 As part of Government initiative to provide motorbikes to assemblymen to enable them do their work properly in the country,   the West Gonja District was not left out in the sharing of this national cake.

On Thursday 10th May 2012 at  the First 2012 Ordinary Meeting, the District Chief Executive of West Gonja District, Hon. Adam Mutawakilu has presented 39 motorbikes worth GH₵27,924.00 to all assemblymen in the district.

In presenting the Motorbikes, Hon. Adam, has disclosed that the long awaiting 149 kilometer road stretch of the Fufulso-Damongo-Sawala road joining the Wa-Kumasi road in the West Gonja District of the Northern Region has begun.

Again, He said, the project estimated at One Hundred and Sixty-Six ($166m) Million Dollars will provide adequate drainage, culverts, walkways and public transport facilities such as bus stops and lay-bys to the district. The Contractors, China Waters and Electrical Corporation Ltd and China Harbor and Engineering Ltd have up to 36 months to complete the works.

Hon. Adam then pleaded with beneficiaries to take good care of the motor bikes and use it to attend the call of duty from far and near anytime they are needed by their people.

Moreover, the District Coordinating Director, Mr.  S. Y. Inusah in his address has edged the Assembly members to become peace ambassadors in their locality in order to maintain peace and order during and after 2012 election.

He edged them to do away with the politics of insult and violence and must therefore liaise with their Unit Committee Members to promote peace in their Electoral Area.
