YAGBON FUNDATION TO BE ESTABLISHED

The Yagbonwura Sulemana Tuntumba Bori Essa I has announced his intention of establishing a Foundation in support of girl child education. The move according to him is part of efforts to improve girl child education as well as eradicating rural urban migration in Gonjaland.

This was disclosed in a meeting of all paramount chiefs in Gonjaland. The meeting was aimed at briefing members on some of the activities to be carried out on this year's Damba festival which coincides with his first anniversary celebration among others.

Some of the activities he mentioned included bicycle race, football matches, wrestling, eating and dancing competition.

He pledged to provide financial support, food stuffs including rice, maize and cassava and cattle for the celebration. He however, entreated his sub chiefs, DCEs, MPs, and the vice president for their contributions to make the occasion successful.

The King was optimistic that the occasion will receive the greatest turnout ever in its history.

The occasion normally attracts Gonjas from every part of the continent and outside the continent.

He also disclosed his intention of fencing the palace to insure total security and avoid encroachment of the land.
